I like applying business principles to my own life. I think there are a lot of lessons to learn there and they make for an interesting way of seeing life. So I’ve had some Core Values of myself for some time now (I’ve had them even before I called them that!).( To go short, Core Values are a principle from the book Built to Last, by Jim Collins and Jerry I. Porras, and are those characteristics of you company that will always stay the same.) I won’t go into my Personal Core Values right now, that is a good topic for another post. Now I want to talk about being explicit.

Sometimes a situation occurs where you have the choice of saying what you really think or feel, or assuming the other one knows anyway and not stating this explicitly. I’m the kind of person that does the first most of the time. This morning, it got me thinking. Why? Is it because I want to be explicit about things? Is it because I think it’s better to be explicit about things? I used to think so. I used to think it was a better way of dealing with things. Now I’m not so sure anymore.
